My Greatest Walk Adventure
oh god
today i walked a few kilometers
it all started for a project to be done
there were me, Gaz, Naf, Azhar, Wanie, Anisa and Izan
we were supposed to go for a photoshoot
of contrast indoor and outdoor natural light
we got on the train and alighted at City Hall station
walked through Citylink all the way to Marina Square
took a few pictures of the outdoor garden
and on the stairs towards the Esplanade
Off to the Esplanade Roof Theatre and i took a few 'spikes'
spent a few minutes at the 22nd UOB Painting Of The Year exhibiton
and then made our way to the Merlion
walked across the bridge and look at a few men catching crabs
then we stood infront of the Merlion
which spews sea water from its mouth
we took a group photo against the salt encrusted railings
and got on our way again towards The Fullerton Singapore
had fun amongst the bronze sculptures
and continued walking to MacDonalds' beside Masjid Moulana Md Ali
we rested our tired feet while indulging in Vanilla Coke Float
Gaz and Naf had everyone in stitches
while trying to control not to spew float over the others
from here, Azhar suggested we walk all the way to Orchard Road
everyone agreed and so started out idiotic, tiring walk
we continued our walk along Boat Quay
exploring and sightseeing the places we walked pass
we went under the bridge and walked pass The Riverwalk
and then across the New Bridge Road towards the MITA building
we went to the exhibition held there and viewed some pottery
made by the famous Iskandar Jalil
after that we continued our walk along the Promenade
and to the North Boat Quay..
watching tourists in bumboats in the Singapore River
we continued along to Clarke Quay and saw the Hooters bar
everyone got excited for no apparent reason
so on we ventured to Liang Court to savour air conditioned air
and saw a few of the features teak furnitures
we continued our walk again alon the promenade
pass the Robertson Quay Hotel
and the Singapore Repertory Theatre
at this point Azhar and Gaz hatched a brilliant idea
they played a trick on everyone by walking further away from Orchard Road
we followed them blindly along Quay Nanson Road
here, we saw two women walking their dog
a beagle and a fluffy small white dog
Naf was so happy she was giggling at them
i asked her why, she said the fluffy white thing
walked like Azhar- bouncing
though i can't see the resemblance...
then we went up to Mohamed Sultan Road
pass the Le Mercier House
to the end of it along all the bars..
we ended up at River Valley Road
where we walked continuously up a hill
pass the Valley Lodge and the Aspen Heights
we oohed and aahed at all the private residence
then we crossed the road to Oxley Road
down a very old road with houses along both sides of it
some old colonial houses and an abandoned garden
and we also pass a house guarded by the Gurkhas..
wonder who lived in it....
anyway, we continued trudging on
hearing Naf complaining 'Bila nak sampai?' ('have we reached yet?')
she was the one who have yet to explore singapore
Naf, wanna try Sentosa next? hehe
at the end of Oxley Road, we cross the road
and cut across the Winsland House II
and walked along Penang Road
where Somerset MRT station was in sight
we took a couple of pictures
and i was so relieved to see the station
I was so ready to go back home
but they wanted to rest their aching feet at Cineleisure
so on we went again towards Youthpark
we watched a few youths skateboarding
and a few on the stage hip hopping
to some invisible music..
or maybe it was invisible to me since i was far away
we crossed the road to Cineleisure
FINALLY!! we ended the adventure
Gaz, Naf n Wanie went to Rocky Monsters to meet their friend
and then we went to the foodcourt
i had ice Kacang while i rested my tired, weary, bruised and aching feet
we talked about the day and the experience we had that day
about Gaz and Azhar tricking us
about Naf getting excited seeing dogs at Quay Nanson Road
and about me being trigger happy
clicking away at all the sights we saw
at last, we were on our way home to Somerset Station
everybody lived in the east
except Naf, in Senkang, so she got off to NEL (NorthEast Line)
i didn't sit till Bedok as it was a Friday Night
Gosh was i tired ...
its as if i walked all the way from Hobbiton to Mordor
my feet have been soaked in warm water
and now i'm ready for sleep...
