Happy 28th Birthday Yan!!
May all your dreams come true, be blessed with health and happiness and always be among the people that you love...
Things take time to heal, especially matters of the heart.
Take good care of yourself, as I have promised u. Your brownie will be waiting ya. Smile always.
I had sent in my assignment today and met up with Nish, Fiz, Man and Shril at Simei for coffee since the last I saw them was over a mth ago. Its so refreshing to meet them up and talk about stuff. Amazingly we covered alot of topics over Mocha Fraps, Iced Mocha, Raspberry Frap, food from Old man Chang and paus... Among them were
There were so many distractions like yapping dogs, a Road King Harley passing by, a transvestite and the bf walking pass, beautiful girls and yummy guys but we still had the best conversation till 11pm.. Thats why I love these people, their intellect never bores me..
Woah... didn't know it was this much people. No wonder... I had trouble counting them at the bumboat terminal cos everyone was everywhere. So... we had a few overly excited smaller kids since it was their first ride in a bumboat. My dad controlled well enough not to throw up during the 10 min ride to Pulau Ubin. But he kept asking the bumboat captain if he needs a crew..
Anyway, we reached Ubin at 0800 hrs and Cik W.n and I proceeded to the information kiosk for the map. We were told by the ranger the routes to take if we were cycling, pointing out the kampung chief's house, the rubber plantation, Mamam and Nordin Beach, Bukit Puaka and the temples. So we geared ourselves up with rented bicycles and we were off to the eastern side of the island towards the mangrove.
Altogether there were 16 mountain bikes, one mountain bike with carriage for the 2 tiniest people and one child bicycle with training wheels. And I have been wondering how Hak.m can fall off the bike with the training wheels... tsk tsk... But my mistake was to forget to bring the insect repellent cos the mangrove was swarming with mosquitoes. EEeew.. we actually went through a blood donation drive.
So to Mamam and Nordin beach, where we had a picnic, we went, through some dirt treks full of mud holes [which Sha called lauts.. "Ey.. jangan lalu dalam laut tau... Nanti basikal basah." hahahhah.. Bahasa melayu condemn sey.] went up hills and down slopes and we cycled all around the island all the way to Kekek Quarry which was situated up an incline... For 7 and half hours we cycled, my butt was numb at the end of it, we ended the day with cloudy skies at 1700hrs..
Our last stop was the basketball court where I snoozed under the Angsana shade for 30 mins till the last bugger reached.. Who happens to be Hak.m cos he made a great display of cycling into a stationary bicycle to stop himself... haiz.... itu anak...
So at the end of it all, I took a few pics of the low tide and head of to the bumboat ride to mainland and have our early dinner of Nasi Lemak at Changi. I tell u... the moment we reached home, had our shower and hit the sack, we were knocked out for the rest of the night. That was how pooped we were. But definitely, I had the time of my life. I'll be in Ubin once again to cycle. Anyone interested?
[Pictures will be up soon once i'm not busy with work..]
Next trek: Kota Tinggi Retreat.. InsyaAllah...
Turtles can breathe through their ass.
And for me to remember it easily, he grouped them up for me under 2 catergories:
Things I love on a rainy day:
Liyana loves the simple things in life like playing and dancing in the cold rainy day, holding a bouquet of white lilies while walking along the beach with the children who showers her with hugs and kisses.
Things I love indoors:
Liyana loves writing cooking recipes and baking a caramel chocolate cake while reading a great book.
To B0b, thanks a million for that night. *Muacks*
speciaL-K,
a drug for my insomniac
has a fetish for hairs,
girls, dildos and melodrama..
K makes a room so lively and gay
not forgetting making fun of gays
a wit comparable
to that of a lightsabre
Look her up in your list
and say 'Hi' never 'sex?'
its either she smiles and reply
or you be figuring out her text..
In this wee hours of the morn
sleep deprived brain and all
I keep hearing the fog horn
and seeing a guy so tall
Hallucination of high emotion
thats what K does to you
Immortalised motions
K! an Ode to you..
Do you love me when i'm here?
would you miss me when i'm gone?
Do you cry when i'm down?
could you smile when i'm asleep?

Daddy had to attend to an alarm at the office so we started the day late. All geared up with water packs and extra clothings.. we jus had to wait for his call and then we were off. Experience from the last 2 treks, we decided not to bring any food except for some salty crackers, energy bars and raisins. More would weigh us down.
The start of the trek on a Labour Day, is but a crowded one. So many families and training hikers with their full packs. Without dilly dallying, we took route 3 and 4 reviewed to be the mild and hard routes. Everyone set off with a spray of insect reppellent and left Daddy behind [he says he's admiring the beauty of nature.] HAH! My mum forbade him to touch the Nikon D70 and instructed me to be the photographer instead and commanded Daddy to march faster. Hahahahahaha.. he was excused from NS, he's paying for it now. So I was trigger happy as always, gets left behind often cos it took some time to adjust the Manual Mode and still catch up with the leaders.
Even with my condition, I managed to trek with a 3kg pack, a camera and still beat Daddy who's huffing and puffing along the trail. hehe I pity him. The trail was quite uneventful.. Not much to see and explore cos the caves are blocked with gates. Shucks.. I really wanted to go through the caves. But there is this small stream. Very cold water. And it has a brick wall along it.
[See pics in Album 3]
Then this is where the hard part comes. The 184. [I only learnt much later what that part of the trail is called.] The trail went uphill and instead of a steep gravel slope we encountered at MacRitchie, this had steep steps about 20 cm high each step and numbers were sprayed on it. And of course, there were 184 steps. 184 freaking steep steps. Not only did it do my heart some good workout, my thighs, my calves and my vertigo had some excercises too.
After that, it was all smooth sailing. Once the 184 is over, you can walk over fire I tell you. [walk over fire at own risk. I have not tried that yet.] We spent trekking for a mere 2 hrs uphill and another half hour walking down a very very steep slope. Then another 2 hours exploring their quarry, interactive playgrounds and watching watercolourists at work..
It was a good day indeed. Topped it off with lunch at Adam Road for some Nasi Lemak and Ice Kacang.. A good day indeed.
So please enjoy the pics..
Next Trek: Bukit Chandu @ Kent Ridge for Vesak Day..
My deepest condolences to the family of the late Mr Wee Kim Wee.
He was a much loved President. The only one I can remember by name other than the present Presidnet Nathan.
You will be fondly remembered.
One Moment of silence..
Happy 29th Birthday Mr Dj!!
