February Summarized

  • In this month of February, Khai had his examinations.
  • I had my month of holiday from school.
  • I met up with more of Khai's friends.
  • I also started work which lasted for 16 days due to uncompromising agreements about my tudung.
  • I finally celebrated Valentine's Day with a boyfriend.
  • I celebrated my Mum's birthday in JB with a dinner at Secret Recipes. Super Cheap!!
  • met up with Nisha and Fiza and getting overly excited about our chalet.
  • I realised that February is such a short month.
  • Khai misses me alot more during his examination week to the extent of surprising me at work. Awww... so sweet and lovable of him
  • Cik Jam had a chalet at Downtown east and met up again with a few family members.
  • Misses Khai even more

I think thats about it.. Chalet!! Here we come!!

Geylang Serai Closed

Mood: Sad..

Today is the last weekend that Geylang Serai would operate. Nish, Abang and I were there to witness the last of the familiar sight. Although we had a bargain buying huge prawns and 5kg of stingray, I would sorely miss this place.

The kittens playing in the gutters.
the fishy water that gets into your sandals..
The familiar makciks that sells kuihs at the side.
The chendol that I crave everytime I go there.

All this will be gone. In 3 years time, a new market will open, minus the smell, the rodents, the familiar path I used to take with my parents every grocery day.

I'm going to miss Pasar Geylang Serai.. really do.

Many Many Fireworks

Mood: Wide-Eyed kiddy

For the 6th time in 2006 (its only the 7th of February so for those who failed maths, its only 38 days into 2006) I am yet again an audience to a fireworks display.

  1. New Year Display
  2. Chinese New Year Eve/Imran's Birthday
  3. The daily display for the Lunar New Year caught with Khai at the 'Chopsticks'
  4. Towards Suntec City while shopping with my parents
  5. On the way home from Ang Mo Kio on benjamin Sheares Bridge
  6. The Last day of the Chinese New Year
Thats a whole lot of fireworks man.. But it still leaves me awed and child-like. I just LOVE fireworks.. The beating of the sounds in my heart, with the sky lit like a rainbow fire. Its just too magical. Just like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow
