Sock Heaven

Mood: exasperated

Problem: I will lose one side of sock for every pair of sock I put in the Washing Machine and I can't figure out where they go. Don't you have this problem?

Theory: When the spin cycle is on, it creates a vortex that sucks in that 1 side of sock to Sock Heaven where there are enormous heaps of socks weeping for their partner stuck in our world.

Could this be true?

Zoo.Digeridoo.How Do You Do?

Mood: Enlightened about short-sighted Rhinos

Would you go to the zoo for 2 days straight?
Would you want to get drenched in rain on both the days?
Would you take millions of pictures when you are in the zoo?
Would you enjoy singing 'I like to move it, move it' in the lemur enclosure?
Would you be attracted to cute little animals smaller than your palm?

If all answers are yes, YOU would be ME!

Saturday and Sunday were Zoo Days for me. And ooooh boy do I miss the zoo.. its been aeons since I visited the zoo. Back then even the lion's had big retro hairdos. Months before Khai flew off, I kept saying that I missed the zoo and he promised to bring me free of charge. But my dad got the complimentary card [Corporate Friends of the Zoo card] in the month that Khai would be transversing over the European countryside, which could admit 4 persons at a time so all I could do was pounce on the offer. Its not that I don't wanna go with my honeybee but opportunity has presented itself on a glittery rainbow-coloured platter. Anyway, I could just go for a recce.. check things out, which parts to go.. right baby? heh

So on the first day, Darwish, Nasyatul, their parents and maid came along with me.. We only reached the zoo about 3.30pm, two and half hours before it closes.. Not my fault.. I blame it on my extended environment. And instead of doing a fast game on visiting the animals, we visited Colonel Sanders first. Energized the body with crunchy pieces of chicken parts dipped in flour batter and fried in a vat of hot oil. Yummy you'd say.. Fatty indeed.

Onwards we marched to the polar bear enclosure and just when I thought we could sea the lions, the kids saw the horse drawn carriage. $8 for an adult.. Freaking expensive. We ended up in that carriage pulled by a horse named Jones which was foaming at the mouth because he was in 'racing' mode. Thats what the guide told us. It could be dangerous being pulled by a rabid horse. I can just imagine Need For Speed Horse Version..

I trusted Darwish with the map and he directed us to the Snake Enclosure [all this when he held the map upside down] Thats where we got caught in the rain so we ended up looking at snakes eating dead mice. There were even other interesting creatures like this one...



We were stuck for the rest of the day so we came out from the zoo only about 5.30pm and thats already closing time. kinda sucks that we didnt get to see much in the zoo. but i'm going again tmr but this time with Iqa and Ayi.. Gonna be fun I know....

My Mum's Operation

Mood: Obsessed

For those who knew about it, she's doing fine. She came back like a hibernating bear cub. But with my old crutches at my grandaunt's place, the only thing I could think of to help her walk was her old hockey stick. That thing has done her good and the best part was she flipped and flopped around with it. She ended up hopping all the way home. hah

My mother went for an operation to remove a cyst or growth beside her right ankle. It was just a minor affair but she got 2 weeks off for it. That means she'll be at home for the next 2 weeks.

Oh and get this... she had to clear her leave so she took 1 more week immediately after that MC.. Whoopedoo!

He made me a video of our memories together as a going away present and he sprayed his perfume on the paper.. I love his smell.. on that paper, he wrote a poem.

I heard his voice and I cried

Mood: Smiling thru tears

After nearly 24 hrs, he smsed me saying the he just reached his hotel. Then a day later he called. He called me. From Germany.. Now thats a very big thing where all things cost twice as much as here in Singapore.

And when he called me, I cried.. It wasn't because that i;m sad.. its just that I'm overjoyed at hearing his voice. everyday without fail for the past 5 mths, I've heard him before i go to bed and now, it just makes me restless.. And i definitly cried.

He told me it was cold, he's freezing and here i am in sunny singapore being a housewife to my family...

how I miss him..

Wish I... wish I was going too

Mood: Puffy Eyed

I've been crying the past few days.. dreading this day. Last night, I was already tearing at our taxi stand while he told me to take care of myself. I hugged him so tight while I secretly cried into his neck. I tried my hardest not to let my tears roll down but the dam just burst. I couldn't stop crying when the first tear fell and he just hugged me again. Taxis drove, stopped and then continued on their way again since their services were of no use.

We just stood there crying and promising each other take care..

Just now when I sent him off, his whole family was there. I turned down his mum's offer to take a family picture with the whole family. My refusal was mainly to the fact that I'm not family yet. InsyaAllah, one day. Even though I looked calm, i was crying inside. B will be away for a mth in cold Germany. I was fretting abt his food, his warmth.. Every minute that ticked by till he walks thru the gate seems so long and deep inside it could stretch even longer so he'd still be with me.

We didnt even dare to hold hands because of his parents. I was just scared that he's get reprimanded for it. By 10pm, he kissed his grandma goodbye, salam all his relatives, cried in his parent's embraced and hugged his gd friends tight. But at 10.15pm, we walked slowly to the gate side by side which felt so far apart. It was so heavy this feeling and we stood in front of the glass. He made me promise to eat properly and when he turned to face me, he told me not to cry. And he kissed my forehead and hugged me in full view of his family.

One final smile and he crossed the security line. He called me to the glass and kissed it before he winked and smiled. Thats my Khai. Thats when the dam broke again. Eyeliner ran, tissue floss on my eyelid and his Dad calling to me to say that he's waving. Goodbyes are really hard. 1 mth till he comes home..

I wish I was going too.

I'm missing him already

His Bags are Packed... NOT!

Mood: Exhausted

Right after the chalet, khai came home with me and he fell asleep on the floor in my living room. I slept on the sofa and my brother sprawled in his own bed. Aisam just left us there while he played Rakion. About 2 hrs later, my dad came home and I prepared him some food.

If i knew the chalet was going to be this exhausting, I'll give it a miss but it was all worth it. I came by Khai's place to help him pack. I thought it be easy you know like folding up his clothes and stuffing it all in the bag. but no.... He didnt even have his stuff ready. I ended up cleaning his room. I feel so much like maid.

Why is it that he says he knows what is going into his luggage but in actual fact he doesn't? He didnt't even have a checklist that he follows. I would have been pulling my hair if my things are not packed when i'll be flying off in a matter of 2 days.

He's flying, I'm panicking. He's cool, I'm worried. He's shaven bald, I'm pulling my hair.

Chalet!

Mood: Overly Happy

It was the highlight of the month of March. We waited for a whole month for this chalet. Finally its here woot! 3 days 2 nights away from home. Just like a holiday but the only difference was that I had to cook. Initially, we planned for a potluck over at my place for some shisha and movie to send Khai off to Germany but it ended with this chalet which, to me, was even better. I get to spend some time with him without worrying if he would be late to take the last train home. I guess, I was dreading the day that he would fly off.

Anyways, after a month of planning and a whole day of superb marketing, the plan was executed perfectly with a few minor hiccups such as Abang getting lost in the Commonwealth area. The itinery for the day right after checking in was to drive to Nish's place to get her marcaroni goreng she left behind, then to her friend's place to get these olive dip thats so delicious when u eat it with french toast. After that, off to Commonwealth to get the 5 kg of chicken wings and the satay for the BBQ, pick Khai up from Redhill then back to the chalet.

The hiccup only started after a break and a few ice kacang at Commonwealth because one wrong turn and we ended up at Lornie road instead of Redhill. [For those who are unfamiliar, thats really really really far.] Then after that, we just couldn't get out of the CBD area. Sheesh.. I wonder if its true that all Singapore roads lead to Orchard Road. This always happens if my Dad or Bro drives. Or prolly they are just men.

Once we got back, everybody rushed to start the steam boat.. Khai had to marinate the chicken, the girls started the steamboat. Just imagine if we all lived in the same house if we behaved like this..


And Khai's marinate was superb. And I'm not saying this because his my boyfriend. I can't believe this.. the words 'My boyfriend' rolls so easily over my tongue in this relationship.. My Boyfriend..

Back to the story, it was an amazing steam boat. we were missing a few stuff but it was fun cooking.. Especially changing the dialouge of Dimensi 4 on Suria. Frankly speaking, the show isnt scary at all but I don;t know why they have those Parental Guidance thingy.. its just a waste of space.

So after we cleaned up and everything, we set of to Geylang to buy.... jeng jeng jeng....

DURIANS

haaah! durian party lah beb...

We came back around 3am from Geylang after buying $22 worth of durians cos Abg got lost again around that area. It was fulfilling.. Abt half a year not peeling and eating durains. there were so much of it that 1/3 of the durians were left over for the next day. And guess who peeled them.

Right after waking up and sending the guys to work or school, we peeled them cos Fiza couldn't stand the smell of it. hehehhe She don't know what she's missing.. So during the day, the 3 girls became housewives... haha. We prepared the 5kg of stingray, the chicken and everything needed for the BBQ. The menu goes:
  • Pari Panggang with sambal chilli
  • Khai's marinated chicken
  • Huge prawns with coriander and garlic butter
  • Squids with sambal kicap chilli padi
  • KFC Chicken thanks to Khai's Mum
  • Satay from Cik Man's Wangi Stall
  • Hotdog
  • Fishball
  • Vegetable Kebab
  • Cut fruits [this is the first health concious BBQ I've been to]
  • free flow of fruit punch and calamansi juice
And because there was an overwhelming amount of food, we called anybody we know. Thanks Mr Majid, Zaza and friends, My bros and Hayqal, Abg Sheikh, Dawood and Fiza's Bro Hafiz.
